Sound Farm Woodshop

As a hobbyist woodworker, I make things with an emphasis on simplicity and function, using locally sourced, reclaimed materials whenever I am able. 

 

I am drawn to the concept of vernacular furniture: simple pieces made by average folks for everyday use, using whatever materials you have on hand. Throughout history, people with no formal training have made items for their homes that have withstood the test of time.

I have also been deeply inspired by Christopher Schwartz’s Anarchist’s Carpentry concept, from which I take the principles of building rather than buying, using a small set of tools, and designing/making quality items using traditional methods.
